Walshurleagueout Week 16: The Championship (that doesn't matter except for pride)

The Championship.

In the GFL's storied history, we've had 9 champions and this coming Monday night as the Broncos take on the Raiders, one more will be crowned.

This combatants are Nic Kaminski and Tyler Strayer, friends and colleagues of the GFL.  These two have had storybook seasons and it will all conclude with one final showdown.  Win and you're the man for the rest of the season and the defending champion at our 2019 draft where Phil Smith our commissioner will be celebrating 10 years of hosting the Grandville Football League on Yahoo.

There's not much left to say because it's down to two.

And then there will be one.

ONE CHAMPION.  ONE TEAM.  ONE GFL TITLE.

GFL 2018 TITLE GAME: GIVE EM THE PEEN (6-7) VS MARSHAWN OF THE DEAD (9-4)

Nic and Tyler meet in our Championship game overcoming odds as Nic struck down our 1 seed WHAT BIKE? and owner Buster and Tyler overcame a potential Michael Thomas to defeat our 3 seed Shri Returns and owner Will.  Nic and Tyler met once this season in Week 9 where Tyler defeated Nic by a score of 144.06 to 130.32.  Now they're set for a fiery rematch that will decide who gets bragging rights for the rest of the year and well into the Summer of 2019.

Just a brief note on good sportsmanship.  Tyler and Nic agreed to split the potential winning of $350 to an even $175 each.  So good on them for agreeing to save face and just take an equal amount of cash instead of the original $250/$100 split.  I will agree to this as an interesting option for the two championship contenders if it was agreed upon.  Let's get to the breakdown!

QB BREAKDOWN: Nic had QB Deshaun Watson and QB Baker Mayfield to decide between and the matchup for Mayfield is tempting as he faces a broken down Bengals team, Watson gets the confident but bruised Philadelphia Eagles.  It will be interesting to see who Nic picks.  Tyler dropped Kirk Cousins this week and picked up Mitch Trubisky but he also has Jameis Winston and Lamar Jackson. Trubisky will play a rejuvenated 49ers squad coming off a Seattle upset, Winston gets the Cowboys in Dallas and Jackson gets the Chargers in Los Angeles. Trubisky is the choice here. Since Watson has the most upside, Nic wins the QB breakdown.  Advantage: Nic.

RB BREAKDOWN:  If there's any strength to a championship squad, it's Nic's stable of running backs he has.  He really drafted well and has been able to overcome any injuries that occurred. He has a who's who's of running backs to choose from.  Starring for him are Alvin Kamara and Joe Mixon. But he also has the upside of Tarik Cohen and the newly fired up Derrick Henry. There's also Matt Breida but he's always hurt.  As for Tyler, he was lucky to grab Nick Chubb when he could, James White's volume is very unpredictable but the return of Melvin Gordon is essential to this team and he picked up Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams for $6 on the waiver and Elijah McGuire for the Jets. But due to star power, I side with Nic.  Advantage: Nic.

WR BREAKDOWN: For Nic, it's all on how DeAndre Hopkins performs and if he can perform on one freaking leg like he did against the Jets last week, then all bets are off he can do it against the Eagles.  The freaking Eagles who beat the Rams somehow. He also has the surging Jarvis Landry in a plus matchup against the Bengals.  He also has Curtis Samuel and Jordy Nelson but I doubt they see the starting lineup.  Tyler's WR corps rely on Julio Jones who can let you down at any point, Doug Baldwin who finally blew up last week against the 49ers, he also picked up Mike Williams who is a real interesting play if Keenan Allen sits against the Ravens and he then has the always reliable Larry Fitzgerald. Since he has more boom potential, I'll give receivers advantage to Tyler.  Advantage: Tyler.

TE BREAKDOWN: You would think Zach Ertz vs Jared Cook is one sided but you'd be surprised to know that Zach Ertz and Nick Foles were not on the same page last week as Ertz had a ho hum game of only 5.2 points.  As for Cook, he's been solid for weeks and one of Derek Carr's favorite targets.  If Nic is down, Jared Cook could deliver the championship victory as a Christmas present for Nic but since Ertz has so much more potential.  I'll go with Tyler's team.  Advantage: Tyler.

K/DEF BREAKDOWN: Nic and Tyler both has solid options here this week.  Nic will have Greg Zuerlien who could have a solid week against the Cardinals and it looks like he's going with the Titans defense vs Josh Johnson and Washington.  Tyler has the quite accurate Michael Badgley who's been kicking solidly for the Los Angeles Chargers and has a solid chance of scoring against the Ravens. Tyler's going to go with the Browns defense against the Bengals and it's a solid streaming choice.  But any team with Zuerlien is going to get the nod for me.  Advantage: Nic.

FINAL CALL:  When you have four starting potential running backs, DeAndre Hopkins and for the heck of it, Greg Zuerlien, you are a championship caliber team and usually can overcome most odds. Tyler can still win this game with boom games from Julio, Baldwin, Ertz, and his QB.  But looking at this on paper, I just see too much potential in Nic's team for him to not claim the GFL 2018 crown.
Winner: GIVE EM THE PEEN and owner Nic Kaminski.

Consolation game quick picks.

Shri Returns vs WHAT BIKE?  In our alternate timeline championship, Will and Buster meet in yet another battle with Buster holding a 2-0 record on the season. Due to a lack of upside and the fact Kerryon Johnson is on IR now.  I see Buster taking a 3-0 record against Will this year in our 3rd place showdown.

KZOO RIVER MONSTERS vs OBJs give me a Chubb: KJ and Jeff meet in our 7th place showdown. Jeff has a 2-0 season record over KJ and Jeff will be heavily favored to win this one and should win this one outright.

Captain Insano vs Nader Jr.  Ryan and Goose had two of the most disappointing fantasy seasons in the league and it will conclude with our 9th place battle. The season series is split 1-1. Both of these teams are underachievers but looking at it on paper, Goose has the better team and should win with ease.

NFL PICKS

Washington @ Titans:  Titans should have Derrick Henry run all over Washington.

Ravens @ Chargers: I don't think Lamar Jackson can beat Philip Rivers head to head.

Giants @ Colts: You know I'm not giving up yet.

Jaguars @ Dolphins: I mean the Jaguars just lost to Washington...

Falcons @ Panthers: With Cam Newton getting shut down, I like Atlanta.

Bengals @ Browns: They're getting that 7th win, Will :P

Buccaneers @ Cowboys: Dallas better hope they bounce back.

Vikings @ Lions: Did you see the Vikings drop 41 on Miami? Pray for Matt Patrica.

Bills @ Patriots: If the Bills win, the window truly is closing on this dynasty.

Packers @ Jets:  I almost want to pick the Jets but Aaron Rodgers will play.

Texans @ Eagles: Eagles are playing for their playoff lives but it's over, Philly.

Rams @ Cardinals:  Yeah the Rams better hope they win.

Bears @ 49ers: This defense is straight fire.

Steelers @ Saints: This could be a potential Super Bowl game but I like the Saints at home.

Chiefs @ Seahawks:  I almost want to pick Seattle but they're too volatile. Mahomes baby.

Broncos @ Raiders: Upset of the week.  Jon Gruden saves Christmas Eve with an Oakland victory. The Broncos are falling apart and it's mostly Case Keenum's fault.

Well my friends, this is the final blog of the regular GFL season.  I will probably do a blog for Week 17 because why not.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Walshurleagueout Week 15: The Final Four.

Hello friends, Welcome to Week 15 of the GFL.

Congrats to Buster, Nic, Will, and Tyler for making it to the semi finals.  Best of luck to all of you in winning the 2018 championship.

Now I want to take a moment here to talk about this league and fantasy football in general. I'm just going to be blunt, we're all degenerate gamblers when it comes to fantasy football. This game is 1/3 drafting, 1/3 picking up players on waivers and 1/3 having luck on your side.  There are no fantasy gods that sway games in your direction, sure crack a Miller lite on your porch, you won because you set the better lineup.

And that is where regrets happen, messing up your lineup, playing the wrong guys, the constant shoulda coulda woulda.  We'd all be sitting pretty if we had played Derrick Henry against the Jaguars...wait say that again?  DERRICK HENRY??? That's right, Derrick Henry went off against the Jaguars which brings me to another point...this game is dumb.

You are gambling on player variables and outcomes based on skill, game script, and  matchups. The algorithm might not always be in your favor.  I mean take for instance, Amari Cooper.  Nobody expected him to be balling out the way he is in Dallas.

So as we head into the semi finals, just realize  you might be great at fantasy football, you might set the wrong lineup and yeah, you probably should've won but let's face the facts: We're all being foolish gamblers playing a silly little game to make our Sunday's a little more hectic.  That said, I love the GFL and this league and chatting with you guys week in and week out and this blog has been a great medium for me to write about fantasy football. That's all I wanted to say, let's get to the final four breakdowns.

Wavier Wire Wonders

Nic picked up WR John Brown for $12, WR Curtis Samuel for $3, and RB Derrick Henry for $1 and grabbed QB Derek Carr.

Will picked up TE Ian Thomas for $5

Walsh grabbed K Aldrick Rosas and the Falcons defense because I don't give up dammit.

SHRI RETURNS (8-5) VS MARSHAWN OF THE DEAD (9-4)

Will battles Tyler for a 3rd time with the season matchup record at 1-1.  This is going to be an interesting matchup with Tyler waiting the status of RB Melvin Gordon but he has a solid stable of running backs to use against Will.  As for Will, is he going to go big with Mahomes against the Chargers or gamble on Goff against a depleted Eagles secondary? This one seems like it's one sided but it could end up close than you think!

QB BREAKDOWN: Well this is pretty one sided.  Will has Patrick Mahomes and Jared Goff while Tyler has Jameis Winston and Kirk Cousins. Due to his passing prowlness, Winston is a solid QB for a weekly floor but Mahomes is the man right now, he's putting up Peyton/Brady like TD numbers, he's over 40+ for the season and a clear MVP candidate.  So yeah, sorry Tyler but Will wins this one is a landslide.  Advantage: Will.

RB BREAKDOWN:  Now this one is going to be interesting. Will cannot give up on Kerryon Johnson for some reason, personally I'm surprised the Lions haven't put him on IR but go figure. David Johnson has had an up and down year with the Cardinals but most would classify him as a bust. However, if Melvin Gordon is out this Thursday, Will has Justin Jackson who will get the brunt of the workload in the game against the Chargers and as for Tyler, if Melvin Gordon is out he will rely on Nick Chubb and James White but Tyler also has Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson and complete control of Washington's backfield. So due to his choice of options even if he's RB1 is out, we side with Tyler  Advantage: Tyler.

WR BREAKDOWN: If there is anything that has helped Will this year it is that he drafted and picked up quality WRs.  His corps is strong with Michael Thomas, Adam Thielen, Josh Gordon, and Julian Edelman leading the way but he also has Kenny Golladay.  Tyler truly only has one elite WR in Julio Jones but also had Larry Fitzgerald, Doug Baldwin, Willy Snead and Devin Funchess. So for upside alone, Will takes this one.  Advantage: Will.

TE BREAKDOWN: Two of the more elite tight ends in the league duke it out with Rob Gronkowski for Will's squad vs Zach Ertz for Tyler.  Ertz had a bad week last week in Dallas while Gronk shined in Miami (expect blowing the TD at the end lol).  It's honestly a coin flip for me since Gronk is now healthy FINALLY but since Wentz might sit out, we'll lean Gronk's way.  Advantage: Will.

K/DEF BREAKDOWN: Will is going to stick with Cowboys kicker Brett Maher it looks like while Tyler will stick with Chargers kicker Michael Badgley.  As for defense, Will has Baltimore against Tampa Bay in currently and despite Winston's love for throwing interceptions, it's a bold choice. Tyler will go with the safer Houston Texans against Sam Darnold and the Jets. Due to having more upside in the matchups, I'll go with Tyler.  Advantage: Tyler.

FINAL CALL: The joys of having players play on Thursday and Saturday might be a burden to these two as they will get out of the gate early but if Will is down by a small margin, he will have Michael Thomas on the road in Carolina to win it for him on MNF but Brees on the road is a dangerous call but the Saints are trying to lock up home field advantage over the Rams. Due to concerns about RB Melvin Gordon and having less upside, we at walshurleagueout have Willy Wonka advances to the Championsip.  WINNER: SHRI RETURNS.

GIVE EM THE PEEN (6-7) VS WHAT BIKE? (11-2)

Buster will hope to not get peen slapped by the one of two teams to defeat him this season, the other being Goose and his team Nader Jr.  Yes, Nic coming in with a 6-7 record is the underdog story of the season but he has built himself a heck of a squad with lots of upside, Can he takedown our top dog one more time?

QB BREAKDOWN: Nic has stuck with Deshaun Watson for most of the season and will probably rely on him again this Saturday against the New York Jets. His other option is Derek Carr against the Bengals but you know how well that went for me and Rivers...Meanwhile Buster has Cam Newton and Ben Roethlisberger, both banged up but effective QB1s, the gamble is who do you choose...
Advantage: Buster.

RB BREAKDOWN: You tell me who has the better running backs.  We have Nic with Alvin Kamara, Joe Mixon, Tarik Cohen, Derrick Henry, and Matt Breida or we have Buster with Todd Gurley, Dion Lewis, Jalen Richard, Duke Johnson Jr. and Gurley's handcuff, John Kelly. Dear God, Buster, I know Gurley is great but this is not the best backfield to rosters. Nic wins in landslide even without Gurley.  Advantage: Nic.

WR BREAKDOWN: Now this is where Buster shines. Davantae Adams, Stefon Diggs, Brandin Cooks, Chris Godwin, and Danny Amendola.  Alright so maybe not world beaters and losing Emmanuel Sanders didn't help but Diggs and Adams can win weeks for you.  As for Nic, he's stuck with Jarvis Landry all season long, he traded for DeAndre Hopkins, he picked up Curtis Samuel, and he has Jordy Nelson and John Brown on his bench. Now I almost want to pick Nic here but since Buster has more WR1s on his team, I sway his way.  Advantage: Buster.

TE BREAKDOWN:  Jared Cooks vs Eric Ebron.  A year ago we would probably laugh at this matchup but these dudes are legit.  Eric Ebron is having a career revival in Indianapolis and Oakland has benefitted from Cook's big body and big play upside to make him a top target to Derek Carr. Nic also has David Njoku on his bench and Buster has Austin Hooper but unless they're going to be flexed into lineups, we'll focus on Cook vs Ebron and with Luck being better than Carr, Buster wins lol.  Advantage: Buster.

K/DEF BREAKDOWN: Now Nic has the always clutch Greg the Leg Zuerlien and Buster has the boom boom kicker Justin Tucker, both these dudes are elite and Tucker probably has one of the strongest legs in the league but if I look at who has the chance to score more points,  I am going to side with Zuerlien.  As for defense, Nic is going with the struggling Minnesota Vikings against Miami and Buster will have the Rams up against possibly Nick Foles and the Eagles. The Rams just lost to the Bears...so I'm going to side with Nic.  Advantage: Nic.

FINAL CALL: So Buster's team will be done on Sunday and Nic could possibly be down and if he is down, he has Alvin Kamara and red hot Curtis Samuel to try to win it for him but Buster could counter this IF he plays Cam Newton over Ben Roethlisberger but does he dare risk it? The current projections have this game within 2 points. idk why but something in my gut tells me this isn't Nic's last dance, crack another miller on the porch Nic because you're going to the championship. WINNER: GIVE EM THE PEEN.

So our championship prediction is Shri Returns vs Give Em The Peen.

Quick thoughts on the consolation games.

PHIL UP THE TUB VS Lil Skeet Skeet:  The rematch of the 1.08 miracle, I currently have a 2-0 record against Phil this season but he'll probably win this meaningless 5th place game.

KZOO RIVER MONSTERS vs Captain Insano: Ryan has Christian McCaffrey but Jeff was probably one of the best teams to miss the playoffs.  Jeff will win this game.

Nader Jr.  vs OBJs give me a Chubb: Goose actually had a pretty solid 2nd half of season with a new healthy Leonard Fournette and others. He should take care of KJs squad easily.

NFL PICKS.

Chargers @ Chiefs: Taking the home town Chiefs to win in a shootout.

Texans @ Jets: Jets fans get to watch a good team, how lucky.

Browns @ Broncos: C'MON BROWNS, WALSH NEEDS A SIX PACK

Cardinals @ Falcons: Cardinals might be worst team in the league.

Buccaneers @ Ravens: Ravens bounce back.

Lions @ Bills: The Bills are the better team. Josh Allen is White Vick.

Packers @ Bears: That defense is nothing to mess with.

Raiders @ Bengals:  This game is gross

Cowboys @ Colts:  Believe in Blue. We're doing it fam.

Washington @ Jaguars: Bad times in Washington.

Dolphins @ Vikings:  The Vikings are falling apart.

Titans @ Giants:  Derrick Henry is no Saquon Barkley.

Seahawks @ 49ers:  Seahawks are playoff contenders.

Patriots @ Steelers: Better team wins on the road.

Eagles @ Rams:  Goff should bounce back against this secondary.

Saints @ Panthers: Saints gotta win this to get closer to home field advantage.

Well that was Week 15, next week will be the final season blog but I might have a Week 17 blog and a wrap up blog.

Thanks for reading as always, dudes.

Walshurleagueout Week 14: 1.08 to victory.

We could start this blog by talking about the incredible finish this Monday that was one of the most nerve wracking finishes in GFL history but instead, we're going to talk about something much much more important.

The value of handcuffing.

As we saw from the despicable acts of Kareem Hunt to James Conner tweaking his ankle and being out this week.  Always. be. handcuffing.  If you can hold a roster spot for your star running back's backup, you should for sure do it as we all learned the hard way.  Now some handcuffs are harder to fathom but it's essential, especially when playoffs are on the line.  Those of us who are not able to handcuff our running backs will just have to accept our fate but those who can, you're in good hands.

There's also the strategy of taking other teams handcuffs, like Gio Bernard or Justin Jackson.  You may not have Melvin Gordon or Joe Mixon but you have them when the star players go down, it's a diabolical strategy but all is fair in Fantasy Football.

So with that said, let's get to the playoff matchups this week but first, final standing and waivers.

FINAL STANDINGS
WHAT BIKE? (11-2)
Marshawn of the Dead (9-4)
Shri Returns (8-5)
Give Em The Peen (6-7) 1841.86
PHIL UP THE TUB (6-7) 1832.98
Lil Skeet Skeet (6-7) 1802.66
KZOO RIVER MONSTERS (6-7) 1788.18
Nader Jr. (5-8)
OBJs give me a Chubb (5-8)
Captain Insano (3-10)

Waiver Wire Wonders.

Jeff wins Jaylen Samuels sweepstakes for $31: I'm sure some people are shocked or angered by the fact that Jeff who is not in the playoffs won the bid for Jaylen Samuels who has RB/TE designation in Yahoo leagues. But here's my take, hell yeah Jeff.  You do you, if you want to dominate the consolation bracket, I don't blame you.  But it sure is bold to take away a stud from potential playoff teams.

Other waiver moves.

Buster picked up WR Chris Godwin
Jeff also picked up RB Jeff Wilson Jr. for $15
Nic picked up the Vikings defense for $4 and WR Jordy Nelson
Phil picked up the Bills defense
Walsh picked up WR Dante Pettis

Now unfortunately there are no longer Buffalo Wild Wings game of the week but instead enjoy this more in depth breakdown of our two games.

PHIL UP THE TUB (6-7) VS GIVE EM THE PEEN (6-7)

Our first matchup is Walsh vs Nic.  I defeated Nic with a Monday night miracle in our Schuette/Whitmer fight in Week 5 and haven't met since but now we get to duke it out once again.  This time around, we actually have some different players and even players we traded to each other or dropped. This is going to be a championship quality matchup.

QB BREAKDOWN: Walsh has two of the hottest QBs in fantasy with Philip Rivers and Russell Wilson while Nic has the upside of Deshaun Watson and Baker Mayfield.  Mayfield and Watson have better matchups this week (against the Colts and Panthers) but Rivers gets the beat up downtrodden Cincinnati Bengals.  Edge: Walsh.

RB BREAKDOWN: This is an utter mismatch with the news of James Conner being out.  Walsh will rely on Spencer Ware and Marlon Mack but also has a bench with Kenyan Drake, Peyton Barber and LeGarrette Blount but for Nic, it's a gold mine of running backs with Alvin Kamara, Joe Mixon, and Tarik Cohen.  He also has Theo Riddick and Matt Breida but Breida will be out this week.  Edge: Nic

WR BREAKDOWN: If Walsh has one thing going for him, it's Antonio Brown who can win your weekend all on his own, he'll have a favorable matchup against the Oakland Raiders.  He also has hotshot Amari Cooper going against the depleted Eagles secondary. Tyler Boyd will hope to be the beneficiary of A.J. Green going to IR but faces a tough matchup against the Chargers.  His bench consists of D.J. Moore, Courtland Sutton and Dante Pettis.  Nic also has a week winning WR in DeAndre Hopkins who Walsh originally drafted but traded for Christian McCaffrey but then traded McCaffrey for Antonio Brown.  Nic will also have Jarvis Landry going up against the Panthers and leaving on the bench Mike Williams and Jordy Nelson.  Due to the fact Walsh has AB and more depth, I give him the slight edge Advantage: Walsh

TE BREAKDOWN:  If you don't own Travis Kelce or Zach Ertz, tight end has been a nightmare for you this year and this is no different for Walsh and Nic.  Walsh will rely on boom/bust Buccaneers tight end Cameron Brate while Nic will rely on the more reliable Jared Cook against the Steelers. I dropped Cook after a few duds but he's been consistent since. So for that reason alone, we'll give Nic the edge.  Advantage: Nic.

K/DEF BREAKDOWN: We're going to combine the thoughts on kicker/defense since they're usually a combo of points to help sway a matchup. Walsh is going to stay with the Broncos defense going up against Nick Mullen's and the 49ers and hope for some sacks since cornerback Chris Harris Jr. is out for the year but they should still put up a decent line.  He's also going to stick with Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker who will provide a solid floor against the Ravens.  Nic has the choice of Titans of Packers defense and we think he'll sway with the Titans against Cody Kessler and the Jaguars.  As for kicker, he has Greg The Leg Zuerlien and Zuerlien is always money and with that, we're gonna go with Nic.  Advantage: Nic.

FINAL CALL: In a game that could go either way, this one will be close throughout the day and will conclude with the Sunday night contest between Chicago and Los Angeles.  Walsh will need a massive day from Antonio Brown to possibly even compete with the potential of Tarik Cohen vs the Rams.  With Kamara and Mixon already in tow compared to Spencer Ware and Marlon Mack, we at walshurleagueout think Nic will take this one by a decent score.  Walsh had a wonderful season but sometimes, it's just not meant to be.  WINNER: GIVE EM THE PEEN.

LIL SKEET SKEET (6-7) VS SHRI RETURNS (8-5)

QB BREAKDOWN: Damn this is an exciting one, Andrew Luck vs the Texans after a miserable game in Jacksonville or Patrick Mahomes vs the Baltimore Ravens defense.  Now Mahomes has been red hot and Luck was until he went to Jacksonville, Luck is the 15th best player in fantasy, Mahomes is obviously #1.  Will could also put in Jared Goff against the Bears but he won't.  For having Mahomes alone, Wonka takes this one.  Advantage: Will

RB BREAKDOWN: None of these running backs will excite confidence in you but they're some solid tandems.  Phil has Aaron Jones and Chris Carson plus Josh Adams, Jordan Howard, and Corey Clement.  Will has David Johnson, Kerryon Johnson, Gus Edwards, and Justin Jackson. The worry here for team Shri is Kerryon Johnson might not suit up again leaving him with a tough choice between Gus Edwards or Justin Jackson. Due to his lack of options and less reliable backs, we give the edge to Phil Advantage: Phil.

WR BREAKDOWN: This is where these teams will shine. Listen to these receiving  corps. Phil has T.Y. Hilton, Robert Woods, Allen Robinson II, Adam Humphries, John Ross, and Sammy Watkins. But then you look at Will's receiving corp and chuckle because oh man, this is just unfair.  Will has Michael Thomas, Adam Thielen, Kenny Golladay, Julian Edelman, Anthony Miller, and Josh Gordon. Now looking at those corps, you can clearly see that Will has more depth.  Advantage: Will.

TE BREAKDOWN: Man, another close one.  We have Gronk vs Kelce, how the heck am I going to choose a winner in this one.  Well it's kinda simple, one is a banged up washed up has been and one is Travis Kelce.  Sorry Will but after what Kelce did to me last week all bets are off.  We hope Gronk has a nice game for you but we'll give the edge to Phil and Kelce the destroyer.  Advantage: Phil.

K/DEF BREAKDOWN:  PHIL GOT 21 GODDAMN POINTS FROM A KICKER.  21 POINTS FOR KAI'MI FAIRBARN.  That is unheard of and a matchup against the Colts will give him another solid floor.  Will is going to rely on the still kicking Matt Bryant of the Atlanta Falcons but we suggest grabbing a better option.  As for defenses, Phil is going to go with the Buffalo Bills against Sam Darnold and the Jets.  As for Will, he has two tough choices, he can trust the Seahawks against the Vikings and Kirk Cousins or he can gamble on the Ravens shutting down Pat Mahomes...his starting QB.  For having a kicker that gave him 21 points and a solid defense streamer, Phil gets the edge.  Advantage: Phil.

FINAL CALL: With both relying on players on Monday night, we might not known the winner till Monday night after 11 but it's gonna be a wild ride HOWEVER due to the fact that Will has the better receiver corp and Patrick Mahomes, we at walshurleagueout has Wonka moving on to the semi finals.  Phil will put up a valiant effort but come up just short.  WINNER: SHRI RETURNS.

So we have Tyler and Buster meeting up with Nic and Will in the semi finals. We at walshurleagueout are personally rooting for the new guys.  So sorry Will and or Phil, we don't want to see you win the championship.  New champions are refreshing and welcome, you guys are like the Patriots, we've seen enough of you hoisting the trophy.

Here's my NFL picks this week.

Jaguars @ Titans:  I'll take the Jaguars and the fresh legs on Leonard Fournette to best the Titans.

Jets @ Bills: Josh Allen is one of the most exciting young QBs in the game, he'll win at home.

Panthers @ Browns: The Panthers couldn't possibly lose to the Browns...could they?

Falcons @ Packers: The Packers are going to be rejuvenated after the firing of Mike McCarthy.

Colts @ Texans: I am so torn on this one but I'm going to put my bias aside and take the Texans.

Ravens @ Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes is your new fantasy god.

Patriots @ Dolphins: The Patriots just don't lose in December even if the games in Miami.

Saints @ Buccaneers:  Drew Brees should bounce back from the defeat in Dallas.

Giants @ Washington:  Mark Sanchez is not going to save you.

Bengals @ Chargers: The Chargers are AFC title contenders.

Broncos @ 49ers:  The Broncos are winning when it matters most.

Lions @ Cardinals:  Lions should win in Arizona...hopefully.

Eagles @ Cowboys: I know the Eagles won but these Cowboys are fuego.

Steelers @ Raiders: The Steelers should handle the Raiders easily.

Rams @ Bears:  This is going to be a tough test for Goff and the Rams but they'll win.

Vikings @ Seahawks: This is going to be fun.  I like Russell Wilson to defeat Kirk Cousins in a shootout.

This has been your Week 14 breakdown, I hope you enjoyed the more in depth format.

I will see you for the semi finals next week.

Walshurleagueout Week 13: WIN OR GO HOME EDITION

No time for small talk, this is the big time, it's win or go home for most of our league this week.  Buster, Tyler, and Will can relax this week, their season will continue onward but for me, Phil, KJ, and Nic, all bets are off.  Welcome to Week 13, somehow most of us are still in playoff contention. This week, there is no good sportsmanship, win at any cost.

GFL NEWS

Buster and Tyler lock up first round byes: With Tyler's victory over Will, Tyler and Buster will not have to make a viable lineup decision until Week 15 where the winners of the Week 14 matchups will meet them in the semi finals.

Jeff, Phil, Walsh, KJ, and Nic: As we currently stand, Jeff and Phil are 6-6, Nic, KJ, and I are 5-7, if Nic or KJ and I win this week and Phil and Jeff lose, we'll be looking at a points accumulated tiebreaker.  Current tiebreaker has Jeff leading with 1696 points and KJ last with 1613 points.

Waiver Wire Wonders

Will bids $10 on RB Justin Jackson:  You're probably asking yourself, who? Well like Gus Edwards last week, Will grabs another running back who has been given an opportunity due to injury. How much of the workload Jackson will get with the Chargers compared to Austin Ekeler is let to be seen.

Nic bids $6 on Packers defense: This is BOLD, I mean yes, they're playing the hapless Arizona Cardinals and Josh Rosen is a rookie quarterback but this Packers defense isn't world beaters and they're banged up. Luckily Nic smartly grabbed Tennessee who is playing the equally pathetic New York Jets.

Ryan grabs Gerald Everett for $2: I appreciate Ryan still fighting in the league despite being knocked out of playoff contention, he picked up Los Angeles Rams tight end Gerald Everett who had two touchdowns last week and will look to continue that streak against our Detroit Lions.

And here's the rest of the smaller claims that we're made

Walsh: Broncos defense, RB Peyton Barber, RB LeGarrette Blount
Nic: RB Carlos Hyde, Titans defense, WR Mike Williams\
Will: Seahawks defense
Ryan: RB Nyheim Hines
Tyler: Chiefs defense

BUFFALO WILD WINGS GAMES OF THE WEEK

OBJs Give Me a Chubb (5-7) @ Give Em The Peen (5-7)

Chubb top 3:  QB Aaron Rodgers, RB Kareem Hunt, WR Odell Beckham Jr.
Peen top 3: QB  Deshaun Watson, RB Alvin Kamara, WR DeAndre Hopkins

Chubb DANGER ZONE:  TE Trey Burton.  Yikes, that was a rough Thanksgiving for Trey Burton who everyone had as a potential fantasy darling but has faltered lately, he's just not getting a lot of looks and turning it into points. This week though, it's the Giants so hopefully he bounces back for you.

Peen DANGER ZONE: WR Jarvis Landry.   Landry is just not meshing with the new regime in Cleveland, head coach Greg Williams and offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens do not utilize him to his full potential, this week it's Houston and they're no joke.  Pray he finds the end zone, Nic.

Walsh's take: This is a big game for both Nic and KJ as they go for the elusive 6th win that could potentially land them in the postseason.  Nic benefits from having strong RBs in Kamara and Mixon plus a Watson/Hopkins stack but KJ could surprise with strong performances from Aaron Rodgers and Odell Beckham Jr. It could however come down to Alshon Jeffrey on MNF.  Hold on till the end, folks.

PHIL UP THE TUB! (5-7) @ Lil Skeet Skeet (6-6)
TUB Top 3: QB Russell Wilson, RB James Conner, WR Antonio Brown

Skeet top 3: QB Andrew Luck, RB Aaron Jones, WR T.Y. Hilton

TUB DANGER ZONE: TE Cameron Brate.  Sure, he's supposed to be a top 10 tight end in this garbage landscape that is playing fantasy tight ends but at the same time, he had only 4 targets but he did find the end zone, the matchup this week against Carolina is much more favorable but you better hope Winston is looking for him in the end zone.

Skeet DANGER ZONE: WR A.J. Green.  This is the only potential blemish I could see and it's such a moot point but here we go.  A.J. Green will be back this week but Jeff Driskel will be his quarterback and there is a potential chance he could possibly reaggravate the injury.

Walsh's Take: It's win or go home for me and I have to defeat my best friend and his red hot super squad, I'm going to need a BIG BIG cushion from WR Antonio Brown and RB James Conner in the SNF contest because if the lead is small, RB Josh Adams of the Philadelphia Eagles, former Notre Dame Fighting Irish star could steal the win and send me packing for next year.

Shri Returns (7-5) @ KZOO RIVER MONSTERS (6-6)
Shri Top 3: QB Matt Stafford, RB David Johnson, WR Michael Thomas

KZOO top 3:  QB Drew Brees, RB Ezekiel Elliott, WR Mike Evans

Shri DANGER ZONE:  RB Kerryon Johnson.  Plain and simple, he might not play this week so plan a backup accordingly.  There's also speculation the Lions could put him on IR and why risk his health and well being imo.  No offense Will but I'm looking long term and the long term ideal situation is to rest him and bring him back next year.

KZOO DANGER ZONE: TE Greg Olsen.  Olsen is becoming obsolete in the Panthers passing attack.  Sure, he's not young anymore and he's got to compete with D.J. Moore and Christian McCaffrey but you'd think he'd get some more love, right?  He did drop the touchdown in the end zone though.  That was rough.

Walsh's take: This would've been our Game of the Week if more was on the line but with both Jeff and Will sitting pretty, this is basically a pissing contest of who's team is better, there is some merit here though and Will needs to win or his seeding could be effected by either Jeff or Phil were he to slide to 7-6.  Hopefully Patrick Mahomes torches the Raiders for his sake also can someone please contain Juju Smith-Schuster on the Steelers FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

Captain Insano (3-9) @ WHAT BIKE? (10-2)
Insano top 3: QB Carson Wentz, RB Christian McCaffrey, WR Corey Davis
BIKE Top 3: QB Cam Newton, RB Dion Lewis,  WR Stefon Diggs

Insano DANGER ZONE: WR Golden Tate. The Eagles are just not using Tate the way he should be utilized in an offense.  He's a field stretcher, he's the deep threat, he's being wasted away in Philly and it's disappointing.

BIKE DANGER ZONE:  RB Dion Lewis.   Well, you know how it is, Buster...he's like the only thing I can put here because the rest of your guys are studs.  So yeah...Dion Lewis.  Again.

Walsh's take:  Personally it Ryan could win I'm sure he'd take it as a sweet victory but the fact that Buster is already in the postseason kind of make this a pointless game to go in depth with.  Buster will hope he wins for his pride but the way RB Christian McCaffrey has been playing, Ryan might pull this off.  No disrespect to Deebo though,

Nader Jr. (4-8) @ Marshawn of the Dead (9-3)
Nader top 3: QB Matt Ryan, RB Saquon Barkely, WR Keenan Allen

Marshawn top 3:  QB Kirk Cousins, RB Melvin Gordon, WR Julio Jones

Nader DANGER ZONE: RB LeSean McCoy: Bottled up last week against Jacksonville, Shady will hope for better days against Miami and maybe there will be better days,  with how Josh Allen looked last week, maybe Buffalo will get the run game going.

Marshawn DANGER ZONE: RB Adrian Peterson.  AD is banged up and headed into a Philly buzzsaw as we await MNF to see if Peterson will play as he's been tagged Questionable regardless it could be a long night for a Washington that has struggled since losing QB Alex Smith for the season.

Walsh's Take:  Goose has looked like a super squad the past two weeks as he's strung together back to back victories but the loss of Leonard Fournette for his dumbassery will be costly and with Tyler in meaningless game, both Goose and Ryan are basically just trying to play spoiler this week.

NFL GAME PICKS

New Orleans @ Dallas:  Trap Game.  Gut tells me Dallas wins, Brains tells me my gut is stupid.

Baltimore @ Atlanta: Gonna take a gamble on QB Lamar Jackson staying hot.

Denver @ Cincinnati: I'll take Bradley Chubb and Von Miller making QB Jeff Driskel's day Hell.

LA Rams @ Detroit: With how ass backwards the Lions victories has been, WHY THE HELL NOT?

Arizona @ Green Bay: Easy peasy lemon squeezy

Cleveland @ Houston: Sorry Baker, you're not winning in Houston.

Indianapolis @ Jacksonville: Can't stop us, won't stop us now.

Buffalo @ Miami: Team seems rejuvenated by the return of Ryan Tannehill

Chicago @ NY Giants: Pray for Eli Manning.

Carolina @ Tampa Bay: Panthers will bounce back.

Kansas City @ Oakland: My Gruden Grinder is Patrick Mahomes

NY Jets @ Tennessee: The lesser of two evils.

Minnesota @ New England: I wanted to put Minnesota but you don't go against the Patriots in December and win.

San Francisco @ Seattle: In the words of Russell Wilson, Go Hawks.

LA Chargers @ Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh is falling apart and it's all Ben Roethlisberger's fault.

Washington @ Philadelphia:  Philly Philly, no win for racist teams.

Alright that was Week 13, come back next week for a look at the playoffs, we might even cover the consolation games.

Maybe.

Walshurleagueout Week 12

It Week 12 in the GFL and I just want to take this time to say "Thank You".  Thank you for reading this blog, thank you for inspiring me to write again, I wish I could get paid for this but it's merely a hobby I do for the game I love.  I love fantasy football, it's my favorite fall activity, it's a rollercoaster of highs and lows but it sure is fun, warts and all.  I just love talking football with you guys and blowing up the group chat during big games.  I'll never give this league up and I'm in it till we all decide we're too old for this shit.

Have a happy Thanksgiving and God bless.

GFL NEWS

Buster and Tyler lock up the first playoff spots: Buster and Tyler are the lone postseason competitors so far as both of them have clinched playoff spots and will be playing beyond Week 13, now all that's left is to see where they finish in the seedings and whose getting that sweet $50 bonus.

And then we have five teams at 5-6: With only 4 spots left and five members competing for the spots and it looking like Will being the other lock, there is really only three spots left. This is going to be quite the finish and if there is a tiebreaker, it's all about those points baby.

Waiver Wire Wonders

KJ spends $18 on Jacksonville defense: Big spender huh, KJ.  You spent more than Jeff did on Carolina's defense but at the same time, you have to like the matchup this week, Matt Barkley and the Buffalo Bills against the stout Jaguars defense.  This was a bold waiver move.

Will spends $6 on RB Gus Edwards: I was hoping this guy flew under the radar but alas Will also knew about Baltimore's new running back breakout. And with a solid matchup against Oakland, I can see why Will is starting him with confidence.

Nic spends $7 on Theo Riddick: I'll always give former Notre Dame players the spotlight and this was a solid move, with Kerryon Johnson sitting out the Turkey Day game, it's gonna be a lot of Theo Riddick in the backfield, a solid PPR play if there ever was one.

And here's the rest of the waiver moves

Nic: $5 on Dallas defense, kicker Jake Elliott
Will: $3 on kicker Matt Bryant, QB Matt Stafford
Buster: $2 on Patriots defense
Phil: TE Jonnu Smith
Walsh: TE Vance McDonald, TE Cameron Brate, kicker Adam Vinatieri, WR D.J. Moore

BUFFALO WILD WINGS GAME OF THE WEEK
Shri Returns (7-4) @ Marshawn of the Dead (8-3)
Shri Top 3: QB Matt Stafford, RB David Johnson, WR Michael Thomas
Marshawn top 3:  QB Kirk Cousins, RB Melvin Gordon, WR Julio Jones

Shri DANGER ZONE: RB Gus Edwards. I know I just gave you praise for picking up Gus Edwards but let me just say a few names: Alex Collins, Buck Allen, Ty Montgomery.  Those are also Baltimore running backs, HOLY BACKFIELD COMMITY, BATMAN.

Marshawn DANGER ZONE: RB Adrian Peterson. Man...I know Peterson has a had a rejuvenating year in Washington but this offensive line is banged up and Colt McCoy is under center not Alex Smith.  Also Dallas has a pretty good defense, pump the breaks on a big game for AD.

Walsh's take: Battle for the 2 seed?  Will is currently one game behind Tyler in the standings but if he were to beat Tyler, I believe he would have the lead over him and take over getting that essential bye week for the postseason. As we look at the matchup, Tyler is favored due to the health of his players, Will not having Kerryon Johnson will be a detriment to his squad and I wouldn't bet on Matt Stafford being a Top 10 QB this week but when you have Adam Thielen and Michael Thomas, anything is possible.

Ric Flair Woo! (5-6) @ KZOO RIVER MONSTERS (5-6)
Flair Top 3: QB Russell Wilson, RB James Conner, WR Antonio Brown
KZOO top 3:  QB Drew Brees, RB Ezekiel Elliott, WR Mike Evans

Flair DANGER ZONE: QB Russell Wilson. We know how efficient Russell Wilson can be and he usually puts up QB1 numbers in November/December but the problem is he's on a run heavy team. Now he usually gets you a solid week to week floor and he does have rushing upside himself but you have to temper expectations for a 3 TD week.

KZOO DANGER ZONE: RB Dalvin Cook. This trade has not panned out for Jeff, well the Cook portion, Zeke has been solid for him but Dalvin Cook is to put it lightly, cooked.  In Week 11, he had 9 carries for 12 yards and he fumbled. I don't think he's quite ready for primetime.

Walsh's Take:  Well, this is a big game for both Jeff and I and him having Drew Brees on Thanksgiving night has me nervous, I will try to counter this with Amari Cooper but then we head into the weekend slate and things might get a little closer. I will rely on the tandem of James Conner and Marlin Mack to try to overcome what will probably be a deficit. If I find myself in the lead, Jeff will hope Lamar Miller gets him the win.

Lil Skeet Skeet (5-6) @ OBJs Give Me a Chubb (5-6)
Skeet top 3: QB Andrew Luck, RB Aaron Jones, WR T.Y. Hilton
Chubb top 3:  QB Aaron Rodgers, RB Mark Ingram, WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Skeet DANGER ZONE: WR Allen Robinson. So with Mitchell Trubisky sitting out this weeks game, I would heed caution on all Bears receivers with QB Chase Daniel starting but he could still put up a decent stat line, you just need to lower your expectations, also in all honesty, he hasn't been that great.

Chubb DANGER ZONE: WR Desean Jackson. Here we go again huh, KJ.  Jackson has always preferred Ryan Fitzpatrick getting him the ball and Winston and him never seem to be on the same page. Rumor has it he asked for a trade out of Tampa because of the QB controversy. So once again, you never know what you'll get with Desean Jackson but hey, that's the risk you take.

Walsh's take: This is a crucial game with the winner getting key 6th victory on the season and the loser looking at a 5-7 record, surprisingly you might not be completely out with a 5-7 record in our league but it's not gonna be good.  As for this matchup, Phil once again will rely on Monday night to seal a victory with TE Jonnu Smith and Houston's defense playing.

Give Em The Peen (5-6) @ Captain Insano (2-9)
Peen top 3: QB  Deshaun Watson, RB Alvin Kamara, WR DeAndre Hopkins
Insano top 3: QB Carson Wentz, RB Christian McCaffrey, WR Corey Davis

Peen DANGER ZONE: WR Jarvis Landry. What has he done for you, Nic?  Nada, he got you 4.20 (*AIRHORN*) points in Week 10 and I just don't think Baker and Jarvis are clicking. Now that matchup against Cincy is enticing since they've given up a TON of points to WRs but I still say be cautious with the former Miami Dolphin.

Insano DANGER ZONE: RB Alex Collins.  There's a new man in Baltimore and his name is Gus Edwards and then there's also Ty Montgomery and Buck Allen.  John Harbaugh must really hate fantasy football to troll us all with this 4 man backfield RBBC. Good luck figuring out whose getting the goal line carries.

Walsh's take:  Nic's squad underachieved last week but so did Ryan's and this week will be a war of attrition.  Nic's squad is favored by over 25 points *whistles* but Ryan could have a boom week with RB Christian McCaffrey in tow.  If this one is close, DeAndre Hopkins and Corey Davis will duke it out for the opposing squads for the W.

WHAT BIKE? (10-1) @ Nader Jr. (3-8)
BIKE Top 3: QB Cam Newton, RB Dion Lewis,  WR Stefon Diggs
Nader top 3: QB Matt Ryan, RB Saquon Barkely, WR Keenan Allen

BIKE DANGER ZONE: RB Dion Lewis. Oh hey long time no see Dion Lewis. Remember when he was the danger zone last week and he put up another dud.  Well get ready for the possibility of Blaine Gabbert starting for the Titans on Monday night.  I bet you're thrilled huh Buster.  You miss Gurley, don't you?

Nader DANGER ZONE: QB Matt Ryan. You know how you keep picking the wrong QB every week, Goose?  That might happen again this week. Now I know what you're thinking, IT'S THE SAINTS DEFENSE!  DID YOU SEE WHAT THE SAINTS DID TO CARSON WENTZ? This defense is no longer a joke, proceed starting Matty Ice with CAUTION.

Walsh's Take:  Our current leader might be on UPSET ALERT this week as Goose has put up some solid weekly numbers since getting Leonard Fournette back healthy. If Buster finds himself down on Monday night, it will take a masterful game by Danger Zone Dion Lewis to win and get him an impressive 11th win on the season.

NFL GAME PICKS

Chicago @ Detroit:  I'M DRINKING THE KOOL AID!  Lions are gonna win two straight because Trubisky is out and despite the Bears defense, Matt Stafford plays lights out on Thanksgiving. Motor City Turkeys baby!

Washington @ Dallas: Colt McCoy against the Cowboys defense...welp.  This should be a breeze for the Cowboys but they could choke, you never know with coach Jason Garrett.

Atlanta @ New Orleans:  This game should be a Brees. I don't know whose going to stop the Saints the way they've been playing. I'm personally rooting for a Saints/Chiefs super bowl.

Oakland @ Baltimore: Sure, Oakland beat the Cardinals but this Ravens squad as been rejuvenated by the play of Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards.

Jacksonville @ Buffalo:  This could be a defensive struggle but in the end, I think the Jaguars are gonna get the W in the end.

Seattle @ Carolina: WALSH WACKY UPSET.  I'm taking Russell Wilson to beat Cam Newton in a shootout. I think Cam Newton might be lowkey hurt and just masking it. I think Seattle's gonna keep rolling.

Cleveland @ Cincinnati: Despite Baker Mayfield, I think the Bengals are going to win this game especially if AJ Green comes back.

New England @ New York Jets:  If the Patriots can't beat the Jets, all hope is loss for Brady to possibly get to another Super Bowl...in my opinion.

New York Giants @ Philadelphia: I'm taking the hot team, the Giants are coming off two straight wins and the Eagles are decimated on defense, I think they're down to the 4th and 5th string corners. OBJ is gonna eat.

San Francisco @ Tampa Bay:  Tampa Bay minus OJ Howard and a shaky Jameis Winston. I'll take the team with George Kittle and Matt Breida.

Arizona @ Los Angeles Chargers: If the Chargers lose to the Cardinals...well I'd be pretty embarrassed to call myself a Chargers fan.

Miami @ Indianapolis: Another 3 TD game for Andrew "Comeback player of the year" Luck coming up!

Pittsburgh @ Denver:  Nothing is stopping the Steelers, they came back against Jacksonville and they can probably do it again in Denver.  Steelers are legit AFC title contenders.

Green Bay @ Minnesota: This is a 4-5-1 vs 5-4-1 matchup and I literally cannot almost pick a winner but I will always pick Aaron Rodgers in a shootout over anyone in the league.

Tennessee @ Houston: Home field, healthier team, scarier defense. This won't come close to last week's MNF game but eh, it might be a decent watch.

That was Week 12, I will see you all for the final regular season games of the GFL next week!

Walshurleagueout Week 11

It's Week 11 in the GFL and Buster has claimed the first playoff spot in the GFL postseason, Only six  members of the league will make it to the postseason, this is a crucial week that could decide who advances to the postseason and who will be left holding their beer and waiting for the 2019 Draft.  Let's Go!

GFL NEWS
This week we're gonna look at each teams strengths and weaknesses and see who's been their fantasy hero and zero.

WHAT BIKE? (9-1)
Fantasy Hero: RB Todd Gurley, 285.00 points
Fantasy Zero: TE Austin Hooper, 107.8 points
Analysis: Buster has benefitted from owning Todd Gurley this season as he puts up a safe floor week in and week out.  His downside has been his RB2 slot which has yet to produce a solid floor play week to week.

Shri Returns (7-3)
Fantasy Hero: QB Patrick Mahomes, 270.80 points
Fantasy Zero: TE Rob Gronkowski, 77.80 points
Analysis: Will has benefitted from picking up Patrick Mahomes for $9 in Week 1 but also has to thank Michael Thomas and Adam Thielen for his weekly outputs. The biggest weakness for Will has been the tight end position where Rob Gronkowski has tanked his season.

Marshawn of the Dead (7-3)
Fantasy Hero: RB Melvin Gordon III, 209.30 points
Fantasy Zero:  WR Doug Baldwin, 50.50 points
Analysis: Tyler has been the most underrated sleeper team this season, he has done great but does not get the respect he deserves. The core of his team is Melvin Gordon and Julio Jones but picking up Nick Chubb and James White has done wonders. He's a true contender for the title on a good week.

Give Em The Peen (5-5)
Fantasy Hero: RB Alvin Kamara, 244.90 points
Fantasy Zero: WR Devin Funchess, 104.70 points
Analysis: Nic is a sleeping giant.  He has Kamara, Hopkins, Deshaun Watson, Joe Mixon, etc.  The weakness of this team is his other wide receivers, Jarvis Landry and Devin Funchess are not getting it done but the core of this team is strong.  On a boom week, Nic could be the GFL champion.

OBJs give me a Chubb (5-5)
Fantasy Hero: RB Kareem Hunt, 210.10 points
Fantasy Zero: WR Randall Cobb, 55.80 points
Analysis: KJ is our defending champion.  He doesn't have Gurley to rely on this season but he does have Odell Beckham Jr. , Kareem Hunt,  and Aaron Rodgers to rely on.  KJ is another sleeper team that could win it all on a good week. Keeping hold of Sony Michel and never giving up on him has benefitted his team as well. Jimmy Graham has not worked out like we thought he would.

Ric Flair Woo! (5-5)
Fantasy Hero: RB James Conner, 222.80 points
Fantasy Zero: RB Marlon Mack, 83.50 points
Analysis: Owned by a passionate fantasy football nutcase, I've made 47 waiver moves and made 4 trades this season. I've clearly lost my mind or remember this is redraft. I thank James Conner for getting me where I am,  And the trades I've used to acquire Tyler Boyd and Antonio Brown.  My team is nowhere near the best in this league but I'm gonna pray I make the playoffs and make a run.

KZOO RIVER MONSTER (4-6)
Fantasy Hero: QB Drew Brees, 210.94 points
Fantasy Zero:  RB Le'Veon Bell, 00.00 points
Analysis: Jeff has the first overall pick and chose Le'Veon Bell.  Welp.  He kinda ruined the start of his season but thankfully he started fine without him but faltered down the stretch. Drew Brees has been the star of this team but the inconsistencies at the receiver and running back positions have had Jeff having down weeks.  He can still make a playoff run if all the pieces come together.

Lil Skeet Skeet (4-6)
Fantasy Hero: QB Andrew Luck, 201.80 points
Fantasy Zero:  RB Jordan Howard, 95.80 points
Analysis: Ah Phil aka Philster Goodell aka Lil Skeet Skeet.  Our ever confident commissioner finds himself on the outside looking in.  His trade for Jordan Howard has not panned out but his stash of Aaron Jones is finally coming together. Phil has a good team and he confidently thinks he could win it all but he's going to have to stay hot in November and into December.

Nader Jr. (2-8)
Fantasy Hero: QB Matt Ryan, 221.60 points
Fantasy Zero: RB LeSean McCoy, 93.10 points
Analysis: Oh Goose, you've had a rough season, bud.  And it's not your team is bad, it's just that the matchups haven't gone the way you wanted and having Brady and Matt Ryan made you second guess yourself week in and week out. George Kittle and Saquon Barkley have been the stars of this underachieving squad.

Captain Insano (2-8)
Fantasy Hero: WR Tyreek Hill, 212.20 points
Fantasy Zero:  RB Devonta Freeman, 14.10 points
Analysis: A good team on paper, Ryan just has been on the bad end of some close matchups, losing Devonta Freeman didn't help this season and not having a strong enough core made this team plummet down the ranks.  Even a late season trade for Christian McCaffrey seems like too little, too late.

Waiver Wire Wonders

Phil spends $20 on Josh Adams:  Does Phil know things we don't?  Phil invests in the Eagles backfield with the former Notre Dame player who has shown promise but it's going to be a committee, so Adams might not get the workload Phil is hoping for.

Will spends $15 on a pretty Rashaad Penny: Again, this is an RBBC in Seattle. If Chris Carson misses the game Thursday, Penny and Mike Davis will split the workload and despite the breakout game for Penny, I DON'T TRUST PETE CARROLL.

Busters spends $6 on Derrick Henry: I guess Buster wanted the handcuff to Dion Lewis? This is an odd move in my opinion but hey, he's in first place and I'm barely holding onto 6th place so what the hell do I know.

Nic pays $3 for the Cardinals defense against the Raiders: Well played Nic, spending the amount of cash I couldn't match for the top defense of the week. Regardless, I was gonna take any defense I could get so props to you, please use this to defeat Phil.

And here's the rest of the waiver moves

Will: $15 on WR Anthony Miller
Goose: $10 on TE Evan Engram, Washington defense, K Ryan Succop
Buster: $1 on WR Maurice Harris
Walsh: Pittsburgh defense
Tyler: WR Willie Snead IV,  WR Tyrell Williams
Phil: Houston defense
Jeff: WR Josh Reynolds

BUFFALO WILD WINGS GAME OF THE WEEK
Shri Returns (7-3) @ WHAT BIKE (9-1)
Shri Top 3: QB Patrick Mahomes, RB David Johnson, WR Michael Thomas
BIKE Top 3: QB Cam Newton, RB Todd Gurley,  WR Brandin Cooks

Shri DANGER ZONE: TE C.J. Uzomah.  Uzomah is not going to win you your week, he might tank your week depending on how this week goes.  He only had 5.3 fantasy points last week, you better hope he finds the end zone, Wonka.

BIKE DANGER ZONE: RB Dion Lewis.  Here we go again with Dion Lewis, he's boom, he's bust, HE'S UNPREDICTABLE.  He got you 8.8 fantasy points last week, now that's not terrible but it's not going to cut it in a week like this.  You too better hope he finds the end zone this week, Buster.

Walsh's take: This has potential Game of the Year implications, the #1 seed vs the #2 seed, the Chiefs @ Rams of this week. This game is huge, Buster is predicted to win by 5 points. Both men will be glued to their TVs/phones on Monday as Mahomes and Gurley will try to send it home. This game matters.

Ric Flair Woo! (5-5) @ Marshawn of the Dead (7-3)
Flair Top 3: QB Russell Wilson, RB James Conner, WR Antonio Brown
Marshawn top 3:  QB Kirk Cousins, RB Melvin Gordon, WR Julio Jones

Flair DANGER ZONE: WR John Brown.  Trusting John Brown again huh?  Well, good luck with that, Brown hasn't got 10 PPR points in back to back weeks.  Luckily he should be well rested after the bye and maybe he'll boom once against but JB has been the weak point of this fantasy squad for the past two weeks he was started.

Marshawn DANGER ZONE: QB Kirk Cousins.  Kirk Cousins on the road in Chicago.  Well then.  You're gonna hope for a shootout and Cousins is more than capable of beating Mitch Trubisky in a shootout but this is the Bears defense we're talking about. He'll probably have a decent game but it won't be incredible.

Walsh's Take:  We'll try to get the revenge tour back on track as I try to seek revenge on Tyler who defeated me in Week 2.  It wasn't pretty that week and it might not pretty this week.  Luckily I won't have to worry about James White and Nick Chubb this week but Tyler should be favored in this game. Russell Wilson and Marquez Valdes-Scantling could shake this game up.

Lil Skeet Skeet (4-6) @ Give Em The Peen (5-5)
Skeet top 3: QB Andrew Luck, RB Aaron Jones, WR Robert Woods
Peen top 3: QB  Deshaun Watson, RB Alvin Kamara, WR DeAndre Hopkins

Skeet DANGER ZONE: RB Chris Carson.  Chris Carson will play this Thursday against the Packers, If he does play, I'd still heed caution because Pete Carroll shenanigans are guaranteed.

Peen DANGER ZONE: TE Jared Cook.  The Raiders are tanking, there's no doubt about it. And yes, Jared Cook is a go to target for Derek Carr but you never know what you're going to get with Jared Cook and he could bust at any given moment.

Walsh's take: This is quite the matchup on paper and it will be nice to see it play out. Phil will rely heavily on Travis Kelce and Sammy Watkins on Monday night if he finds himself in a hole but Nic will have Greg Zuerlein to counter any possible point Phil accumulates. This one is a big one for the playoff shakeup potential.

KZOO RIVER MONSTERS (4-6) @ OBJs give me a Chubb (5-5)
KZOO top 3: QB Drew Brees, RB Zeke Elliott, WR Mike Evans
Chubb top 3:  QB Aaron Rodgers, RB Kareem Hunt, WR Odell Beckham Jr.

KZOO DANGER ZONE: WR Mike Evans.  Ryan Fitzpatrick and Mike Evans can't seem to get on the same page. Evans has failed to score 10 PPR points in back to back weeks.  Mike Evans is a risky start the rest of this season. He's a great player but he's not doing it in the fantasy verse.

Chubb DANGER ZONE: TE Jimmy Graham. Though there is a REVENGE GAME narrative this Thursday, Graham is a risky start because of a bad knee and the fact Aaron Rodgers and him just seem to be not syncing. Graham has had some duds over the past weeks and I feel like this is not a good week to start JG.

Walsh's take: This is a big game for Jeff and KJ, the standings could get shook up by one moving up or the other moving down.  Jeff is currently favored by 1 point but if he's up on Monday, KJ will have his fantasy hero Kareem Hunt to rely on to get the victory.

Captain Insano (2-8) @ Nader Jr. (2-8)
Insano top 3: QB Carson Wentz, RB Christian McCaffrey, WR Tyreek Hill
Nader top 3: QB Matt Ryan, RB Saquon Barkely, WR Keenan Allen

Insano DANGER ZONE: WR Golden Tate.  It was great to see Golden contributing to the Eagles offense but maybe it was because it was his first week with the team but he only got you 3.9 fantasy points.  Hopefully there are better days ahead for the former Detroit Lion.
Nader DANGER ZONE: WR Demaryius Thomas.  Here's the thing about DT.  He's not the field stretcher that Will Fuller is/was.  He's more of a possession receiver but he's more going to be the distraction to get the ball to DeAndre Hopkins. Deshaun Watson and him are just starting to get their chemistry going but you have to heed expectations with DT this week.

Walsh's Take:

NFL GAME PICKS
Packers @ Seahawks:  This will probably be a shootout, this teams have some classic games in their history but I see Aaron Rodgers prevailing over Russell Wilson.

Bengals @ Ravens:  The Bengals defense was rekt by Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints, Teryl Austin was relieved of his duties of being the defensive coordinator. Ravens roll at home.

Cowboys @ Falcons:  The Cowboys shockingly beat the Eagles in Philadelphia last Sunday and well, WALSH WACKY UPSET OF THE WEEK, they're going to best Matt Ryan at home this week too. The Falcons are too decimated on defense to match the speed of Dallas' offense.

Buccaneers @ Giants: KINDA UPSET OF THE WEEK? The Giants are inspired after beating the 49ers in San Francisco, but I like the Giants at home to best QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and the lowly Bucs.

Steelers @ Jaguars: This Jaguars defense is not what it once was and I like the Steelers even with Big Ben on the road to beat the Jaguars and extract revenge for the AFC divisional matchup last year.

Texans @ Skins: Washington is amazingly 6-3 and have had a sneaky good season but I like Deshaun Watson to have a decent outing against this team and win on the road.

Titans @ Colts: This one could go either way but Andrew Luck is balling out for the Colts, he's the surefire Comeback player of the year and no one is going to tell me otherwise.  Colts squeak out the win by 7-10 points.

Panthers @ Lions: This is going to be ugly.

Broncos @ Chargers:  Philip Rivers usually plays well against the Broncos and I'm taking the hot team, The Chargers have potential to make a run in the AFC playoffs.

Raiders @ Cardinals: The Raiders are tanking on purpose, the Cardinals will win this game with little effort.

Eagles @ Saints: You don't go against Drew Brees at home.

Vikings @ Bears: Shocking somewhat I guess but I think Chicago is a more competent team than Minnesota and will show it this Sunday night.

Chiefs @ Rams: What a great MNF game, shame someone has to lose this game but my gut tells me it's going to be the Chiefs.  Why? Sean McVay will game plan around making Mahomes night a living hell and Gurley will run it down their throat.  Rams have Super Bowl potential, folks.

Alright that was Week 11...

I think my arm is going numb.
